ATV/Quad, motorbike, trike, pedelec

The regulations for 2- , 3-wheeled vehicles and ATV/Quad have been supplemented by several 1000 pages since 2016 to date.

- Technical services and inspection bodies like to interpret regulations as they see fit. Through years of contact with TÜV SÜD, TÜV Rheinland, TÜV Hanse, Dekra, GTÜ, KÜS, FSP, SGS, IDIADA… and my 10 years of experience as an expert, solutions are worked out at eye level and mutual understanding
- In case of differences or need for clarification, I naturally take over the communication with authorities such as KBA, Ministry of Transport, road traffic authorities, commissions, industry associations for my customers.
- In project management for new models (from specifications to delivery in the market), I can offer my customers tight coordination of manufacturer, importer, retrofitter, technical service, homologation authority, aftersales, distribution.

What do the EU construction regulations for tractors/ATVs say:.

“1322/2014 Whereas.

25) Insofar as the level of safety is maintained, alternative requirements and test methods that take into account their specific technical characteristics should be allowed for tractors with a saddle and a handlebar. This applies to some of the requirements and test methods on the driver’s seat, control devices and protection of drive elements.”

To date, there are no alternative requirements or test procedures. From the technical services of manufacturers from other parts of the world, I have already been asked how to implement the above passage of the legislation through a central body. .

Our ATVs have been integrated into the 167/2013 as a separate vehicle class, without backlighting the required tests for applicability.

The three-wheelers, which are manufactured in a factory in southern Spain, are equipped with the latest technology and are available with either internal combustion engine or electric drive. I knew that the specialists from 3P in Sassenberg, Westphalia, are experts in their field and know no end of the day, but they have outdone themselves.
I wish them every success with the Messerschmitt and look forward to meeting lots of cabin scooters when I’m on the road with my motorcycle.
